The name is historic. The casino experience has moved.

Treasury Brisbane launched in 1995 and became one of the most recognisable entertainment destinations in the Brisbane CBD. For decades, its casino operated from the historic Treasury Building precinct, giving the Treasury Casino Brisbane name a strong connection with the city's heritage architecture.

That chapter has now changed. The former Treasury casino property has passed to Griffith University, and casino operations are no longer based in the old Treasury casino building. The contemporary Brisbane casino experience is now found at The Star Brisbane, which officially opened on 29 August 2024 as a central part of the multi-billion-dollar Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development.

The move represents much more than a change of address. The casino now sits within a large riverside entertainment and hospitality precinct, bringing gaming together with restaurants, bars, live entertainment, luxury accommodation, event spaces and elevated attractions overlooking Brisbane and the river.

The deck rises around 100 metres above the Brisbane River and forms a 250-metre rooftop runway across the upper levels of the resort's signature arc-shaped towers.
